Formula 1 returns to action in Miami for the fourth round of the 2026 season after an unusual break in the calendar.
Following the opening three races of the year, teams now head to the Miami International Autodrome for the first race in the United States this season. The Miami Grand Prix will also bring back the Sprint format, making it the second Sprint weekend of the year.
That means the schedule will be more intense than a standard race weekend. Teams will have just one practice session, extended by 30 minutes due to technical regulation changes, on Friday before Sprint Qualifying sets the grid for Saturday’s Sprint race. Later on Saturday, attention will quickly switch to Grand Prix qualifying, which decides the starting order for Sunday’s main event.
Below is the full timetable of the Miami Grand Prix weekend in Central European Time (CET):
Friday, May 1
18:00 – 19:30 Free Practice 1
22:30 – 23:14 Sprint Qualifying
Saturday, May 2
18:00 Sprint
22:00 – 23:00 Qualifying
Sunday, May 3
22:00 Grand Prix
