Azerbaijan has introduced a special visa programme to make it easier for visitors to attend the 2025 Formula 1 Grand Prix in Baku. Normally, travellers need to apply for an electronic visa (E-Visa) before entering the country. However, between 25th of August and 30th of September 2025, anyone attending the Grand Prix will be able to get a visa directly on arrival at Azerbaijan’s international airports.

This simplified process applies to fans, media, and race staff. To receive the visa on arrival, travellers must show one of the following:

  • A valid Formula 1 race ticket (printed or electronic)
  • FIA accreditation or official Formula 1 documentation
  • Accreditation from the Baku City Circuit Operating Company

With these documents, visitors will not need to apply online in advance or make an appointment with an embassy. The visa can be issued directly at the airport, making travel to Baku much easier for the event.

The Grand Prix will take place in Baku from 19th to 21st of September 2025. Authorities expect thousands of international visitors and say this measure is part of Azerbaijan’s wider plan to welcome more global sporting events and boost tourism. For Formula 1 fans, this is a great opportunity to experience the race while enjoying an easier entry process into the country.
