Formula 1 F1 testing Ferrari 2026 F1 season

The second day of Formula 1’s Barcelona shakedown was heavily affected by mixed weather conditions, with only Red Bull and Ferrari running on Tuesday. For Ferrari, it marked their first on-track appearance of the 2026 testing programme.

Running at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya continued under difficult conditions on Tuesday, as changeable weather kept most teams in the garages. In the end, only Red Bull and Ferrari ventured out on track, resulting in another low-key day with very limited confirmed information emerging from the venue.

Red Bull continued its programme with Isack Hadjar and Max Verstappen sharing driving duties in the RB22. According to paddock reports, Hadjar was involved in an incident during the day, although no official details were released due to the strict information controls surrounding the private shakedown.

For Ferrari, Tuesday represented their first running of the Barcelona test. Charles Leclerc took the wheel in the morning session, before Lewis Hamilton ran the car in the afternoon. Spanish outlet SoyMotor reports that Leclerc completed 64 laps, with Ferrari understood to be focusing on basic system checks rather than performance.

McLaren, meanwhile, did not run at all, despite earlier expectations. The team opted to delay the start of its testing programme due to the weather conditions and is now expected to begin running on Wednesday, with plans to continue through to Friday.
