Cadillac has announced a major addition to its Formula 1 infrastructure, confirming that simulator specialist Dynisma will supply a state-of-the-art driver-in-the-loop simulator to support the team's ongoing development programme.

Cadillac has revealed that it has selected Dynisma to provide a cutting-edge DMG-360XY simulator as the team continues to strengthen its Formula 1 operation.

The simulator, which will be installed at Cadillac's expanding facility in Indiana, will play a key role in several areas of the team's programme, including vehicle development, driver preparation and car set-up work.

Dynisma, based in Bristol, has previously worked with established Formula 1 teams Ferrari and McLaren. Its latest simulator technology uses advanced LED wall visualisation systems and is designed to deliver the high levels of realism required by modern Formula 1 teams.

According to Dynisma, the system's ultra-low latency and high bandwidth allow for highly accurate correlation between simulated and real-world performance, helping engineers and drivers make more informed decisions.

The DMG-360XY platform is capable of moving up to five metres along both the X and Y axes and features unlimited yaw travel, allowing it to replicate complex vehicle behaviour and driver feedback with greater precision.

Cadillac believes the simulator will become an important tool as it continues to develop its technical resources and improve performance throughout the coming seasons.

Chief Technical Officer of Cadillac F1 Team Nick Chester said:

"Selecting the right simulator platform is a key decision for any Formula 1 team. Dynisma’s technology gives us the level of fidelity, responsiveness and correlation we were looking for as we continue to build our technical capability. The addition of the DMG-360XY is an important step as we establish the tools and systems needed to support our engineering work and driver programme over the coming seasons."
