Sergio Perez finished the Monaco GP, which was full of action, on the tenth place and grabbed first point of the season for the team. After taking a 10 second post race penalty for an infringement at the race restart Perez dropped down to P15.

“The stewards heard from the driver of Car 11 (Perez), a Cadillac team representative, and reviewed positioning/marshalling system data, video and in-car video evidence,” read the panel’s verdict.

The decision also says that video evidence showed clearly that the front right wheel of Perez’s car was outside the starting box so the standard penalty was applied.

The Mexican also had to serve a drive through penalty during the race for parking in the wrong grid slot at the original start. He lined up 16th instead of 18th after Gabriel Bortoleto drove into the pit lane.

After both Cadillac cars were dealing with breaking issues all weekend, which even led to Bottas’ retirement from the race, Perez was close to mark the team’s historically first F1 point.
