Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has expressed confidence that Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur, along with drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc lead the Scuderia back to the front.
Ferrari finished fourth in the 2025 Constructors’ Championship, with Hamilton and Leclerc ending the year fifth and sixth in the Drivers’ standings. Despite high expectations following Hamilton’s arrival, the team struggled for consistency and was unable to regularly challenge Red Bull and McLaren.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Domenicali said he believed the team has a clear plan to recover over the winter break.
“I’m a positive guy. There’s no need to cry or always be negative. They need to have a plan and I’m sure Fred, Lewis and Charles have a plan, and that’s what’s important,” Domenicali told the Italian TV channel.
Domenicali, who served as Ferrari team principal from 2008 to 2014, stressed that it is crucial both for the team and the championship that Ferrari return to the fight at the front.
He added that finishing fourth should not be seen as acceptable for a team of Ferrari’s stature and urged the Scuderia to respond with determination and focus.
“I think it’s important to react, not to fade away as if it were normal to be fourth in the championship. We want a strong Ferrari, and they deserve to be in a stronger position,” he said.
“They need to take the right energy into the winter break to ensure they follow the right path, because next year everyone is talking, but nobody really knows where they are,” Domenicali added.
