The Formula 1-themed movie F1 has been recognised by the Academy, receiving four nominations ahead of this year’s Oscars ceremony, including a place in the prestigious Best Picture category.
The feature film F1 will be part of the awards conversation at the 98th Academy Awards, having secured a total of four nominations. Alongside Best Picture, the film has also been shortlisted in the categories of Editing, Sound, and Visual Effects.
In the Best Picture race, F1 will compete against nine other films. The shortlist includes Sinners, One Battle After Another, Big Marty, Hamnet, Bugonia, Frankenstein, Emotional Value, The Secret Agent, and Dreams of Trains, making for a highly competitive field.
The nominations underline the strong technical impression made by F1, particularly in areas closely linked to motorsport storytelling, such as dynamic editing, immersive sound design, and realistic visual effects that aim to capture the intensity of racing at the highest level.
The winners will be announced during the 98th Academy Awards ceremony, organised by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which will take place on March 15.
