Fans at the 2026 British Grand Prix will witness an unusual twist on the traditional Drivers' Parade, as all 22 Formula 1 drivers will complete the lap in fully drivable LEGO minicars built at the LEGO Group's factory in the Czech Republic.

The Formula 1 Pirelli British Grand Prix will feature a unique addition to Sunday's pre-race programme, with the traditional Drivers' Parade transformed into a LEGO-themed spectacle at Silverstone.

Around 120-90 minutes before the start of the race, all 22 Formula 1 drivers will take to the circuit in specially built LEGO minicars instead of the vehicles usually used for the parade. Each minicar has been designed in its team's 2026 colours and features the driver's race number.

The activation follows the success of last year's Miami Grand Prix, where LEGO big-build cars made their debut during the Drivers' Parade and became one of the standout moments of the season.

The minicars were developed and built by a team of 20 LEGO designers, engineers and building specialists at the company's factory in Kladno, Czech Republic. The project required more than 6,400 hours of work to complete.

Each vehicle is constructed from more than 28,000 LEGO bricks, combined with additional mechanical components that allow it to be driven. The minicars weigh approximately 280kg, including around 65kg of LEGO bricks, are fitted with standard go-kart wheels, and can reach speeds of up to 25 km/h.

Formula 1 says the initiative is part of its continued effort to create memorable fan experiences throughout race weekends, with the LEGO Drivers' Parade expected to be one of the highlights of the British Grand Prix weekend.
