Ferrari’s SF-26 looks like one of the most innovative cars on the grid. Mostly because of their rear wing design, which others later called Macarena. After running a bit controversial active aero rear wing in Australia, which was pretty similar to classic DRS, Ferrari has decided to bring their unique design to China this weekend. When Hamilton was asked about the rear wing, he said, quoted by the official F1 website: “We did a full day or so on the wing, I think we did. I’m so grateful to the team because it was actually supposed to be later down the line, and they worked really hard to develop it and get it brought here.” Some also say that other teams were considering similar design for the new season but decided to not spend money and resources on the development.

Ferrari had an encouraging start to the season at the Australian GP as Charles Leclerc finished third behind both Mercedes cars. Hamilton delivered his best result so far as a Ferrari driver and finished fourth. That race Ferrari were Mercedes’ biggest rivals. Will their unique rear wing design help them to challenge Mercedes drivers even more? We will get the answer this weekend.
