According to the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, Isack Hadjar is set to be promoted to Red Bull Racing for the 2026 season.
The young French driver, who is currently competing with Racing Bulls, will reportedly become Max Verstappen’s new teammate. This move would see Yuki Tsunoda lose his seat at Red Bull after a difficult season, in which he has managed just 12 points and sits near the bottom of the drivers’ standings.
Hadjar, on the other hand, has impressed in his rookie year. Despite crashing out on the formation lap at his debut race in Australia, he has bounced back strongly, scoring 38 points so far. His highlight came at the Dutch Grand Prix, where he claimed his first F1 podium with an excellent third place. His consistent form has made him one of the most promising new talents on the grid, and Red Bull appears ready to reward him with a promotion to the senior team.
Hadjar himself has admitted that moving to Red Bull immediately would have been too soon, but he believes 2026 is the right time. With F1 introducing a brand-new set of regulations that year, he feels it will be a fresh start for everyone and a good opportunity to grow alongside the team. He explained that it will be less about playing “second driver” and more about helping to shape the new car together with Verstappen.
Hadjar’s likely promotion will also open the door for another Red Bull junior talent, Arvid Lindblad. The British teenager, currently racing in Formula 2, is expected to step up and take Hadjar’s Racing Bulls seat. Lindblad has already shown his potential by winning races in F2 and even taking part in an F1 practice session at Silverstone.
This would mean that Tsunoda’s future with Red Bull looks increasingly uncertain, while Liam Lawson could continue with Racing Bulls after showing stronger results in recent races.
