Indonesia Grand Prix weekend started with FP1 on Friday morning. The session started with sunny weather and the riders going immediately on track, as this session is only 45 minutes long.
First measured lap times were in a time range of 1:34 to 1:39s. After the first 5 minutes the top five looked as following: Fernandez, Zarco, Aldeguer, Chantra, Quartararo.
With the riders entering another measured times, their times improved rapidly. However, the first yellow flag was caused by Fermin Aldeguer crashing at Turn 8. It didn’t take long for riders to enter times of 1:33s. However, Marco Bezzecchi was the first rider to enter into a time range of 1:32s, being the fastest rider.
So far into the session, Raul Fernandez was impressing with a 2nd place in this session, while Honda continued to have decent results with 3 riders in the top 10. While Francesco Bagnaia who had won last weekend in Motegi, was currently in 18th. The riders all had medium rear tyre, with majority of them with medium tyre at front, the rest of them had soft tyre at the front.
In this session, Trackhouse had brought the Gulf livery back, now riding with a baby blue and orange livery, which so far looks like it brought them luck, making the only 2 Aprilia riders at the top 2 in this session.
