Marc Márquez says he is close to agreeing a new deal with the Ducati Lenovo Team. The Spanish rider explained that most parts of the contract are already settled, and only a few final details still need to be completed.
Spanish MotoGP rider Marc Márquez has said that he is close to signing a new contract with Ducati Lenovo Team. The world champion explained that most parts of the agreement are already decided, and only a few details still need to be finalised.
Márquez joined the factory Ducati team for the 2025 season after leaving a season with Gresini. His current contract runs until the end of the 2026 MotoGP season. Since moving to Ducati, he has been very successful and quickly became one of the strongest riders on the grid.
The 32-year-old said that the talks with Ducati have been positive. According to him, both sides already agree on most important points of the new deal. Because of this, he feels calm about the situation and believes that an agreement will come soon.
However, the new contract has not been signed yet. One reason for the delay is Márquez’s physical condition. Last season he suffered a shoulder injury after a crash, and he wants to be completely sure about his recovery before committing to a long-term deal. The rider explained that when you are injured it is difficult to make big decisions about your future.
Even with this delay, Márquez has made it clear that Ducati is his first choice. He enjoys working with the team and believes the bike gives him a strong chance to fight for more titles in the future. Ducati also sees him as a key part of their plans as MotoGP prepares for new technical rules that will arrive in 2027.
Márquez is already one of the most successful riders in modern MotoGP. During his career he has won multiple world championships and many races. His move to Ducati created huge excitement in the paddock, and his performances quickly proved that he could win with a different manufacturer as well.
For now, both Márquez and Ducati continue to work on the final details. If everything goes as expected, the new agreement could keep the Spanish star with the Italian team for several more seasons in MotoGP.
