The start of the sprint race in Brno went well for Francesco Bagnaia, but he soon lost the lead to his teammate Marc Márquez. Quartararo managed to hold his position, with Pedro Acosta eyeing him for an overtake. At the end of lap 1, the top five were as follows: Marc, Bagnaia, Quartararo, Acosta, and Bezzecchi.

At the start of lap 2, Acosta managed to overtake Quartararo and moved up. It didn't take long for a yellow flag to be shown, due to a crash between Augusto Fernández and Takaaki Nakagami. The incident was caused by Augusto and will be investigated after the race.

So far, the positions hadn't changed much. Bezzecchi and Martín both received track limit warnings. Jorge Martín was in a fight for 8th with Johann Zarco, which he lost and dropped to 9th place.

On lap 4, there was a battle for 4th place between Quartararo and Enea Bastianini, who managed to overtake before the end of the lap. But that wasn't the only battle waiting for him, right behind him were Raul Fernández and Bezzecchi. Sadly, Bagnaia got overtaken by Acosta, and was soon overtaken by Bastianini and Quartararo as well.

The second yellow flag of the sprint was caused by Fabio Di Giannantonio crashing in sector two. However, Bastianini, Acosta, and Álex Márquez received track limit warnings. On lap 5, something similar to what happened to Bagnaia happened to Marc, and he lost the position to Acosta. After falling behind, Marc fought to regain the lead.

To add more drama, Bagnaia received a track limit warning from the stewards, and with all the warnings, the order could still shuffle. There was another overtake, this time from Bezzecchi on Bagnaia.

With two laps to go, the top five looked like this: Acosta, Marc, Bastianini, Bezzecchi, and Quartararo. Marc made an overtake on Acosta, which Acosta managed to defend going into the next turn.

Marc won the first sprint race in Brno, with Acosta in second and Bastianini in third. Bezzecchi finished fourth after a very close battle with Bastianini.
