The 2026 MotoGP season is getting closer, with teams already confirming their launch dates for the new year. Pre-season testing will begin in early February, before the championship starts at the end of the month with the Thai Grand Prix.
The MotoGP world is getting ready for the 2026 season, and excitement is already growing. The first bikes will go on track at the start of February, when teams take part in pre-season testing. These tests are very important because they help riders and engineers prepare for the long year ahead.
The 2026 MotoGP season will officially begin from 27 February to 1 March with the Thai Grand Prix. This race will be round one of 22 races, meaning fans will enjoy a very full calendar once again.
Before racing starts, every team will show their new bikes and colours at special team launch events. Below is a guide to when and where each MotoGP team will launch their 2026 bike.
Date: 14 January
Place: Rome, Italy
Valentino Rossi’s team will race in MotoGP for the fifth time in 2026. The riders will be Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli.
Di Giannantonio will ride a full factory Ducati, while Morbidelli will use a bike from the previous year. In 2025, the team scored six podium finishes, which was a strong result. However, they have not won a race since the 2023 Indian Grand Prix, and they hope to change that soon.
Date: 13 January
Place: Siena, Italy
Pramac Yamaha will be the first team to launch its 2026 bike. The event will take place in Siena, at a famous music academy.
The launch is very special because it will be the first official MotoGP event for Toprak Razgatlioglu as a Yamaha rider. The Turkish star is a three-time World Superbike champion and will race alongside Jack Miller.
Toprak tested a MotoGP bike in Valencia at the end of the 2025 season, but it had no colours on it. This launch will be the first time fans see him in full team colours. Pramac will also show its Moto2 bikes at the same event.

Aprilia will launch its season in Milan, at the Sky TV studios. The Italian team had its best ever MotoGP season in 2025, with four race wins and second place in the constructors’ championship. Because of this success, Aprilia goes into 2026 hoping to fight for the world title.
Date: 19 January
Place: Madonna di Campiglio, Italy
Ducati will hold its famous winter launch at the Madonna di Campiglio ski resort. The event lasts several days and includes skiing, media interviews, and the bike reveal. Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia will present the new Ducati colours.

Date: 31 January
Place: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Gresini Racing will launch its 2026 season in Kuala Lumpur. The team continues with Ducati power and hopes to fight regularly for podiums in the new year.
