MotorLand Aragón will remain on the MotoGP calendar in 2027 after securing a new agreement with championship organizers. The Spanish circuit's inclusion comes as MotoGP prepares for future changes to its European race schedule, while Hungary is expected to sit out the 2027 season.

MotorLand Aragón has secured its place on the MotoGP calendar for the 2027 season following a new agreement between MotoGP and the Government of Aragón. The event will mark another chapter in the circuit’s long-standing relationship with the championship, ensuring that the Spanish venue remains part of the world championship schedule for at least one more year.

The extension comes at a time when MotoGP is continuing to reshape its future calendar. While MotorLand will host a Grand Prix in 2027, its role is set to change afterward. From 2028 through 2031, the circuit is expected to serve as an official reserve venue, ready to step in should any scheduled event be unable to take place.

The one-year renewal is also linked to broader changes within MotoGP’s venue strategy. Hungary, which returned to the championship in 2025, is not expected to feature on the 2027 calendar, creating an opportunity for Aragón to retain its position. MotoGP is therefore using 2027 as a transitional season before implementing a revised structure that could include a rotating system among certain European events.

For the Aragón region, the Grand Prix remains one of its most significant international sporting attractions, generating substantial economic activity and drawing large crowds every year. Since joining the MotoGP calendar in 2010, MotorLand Aragón has established itself as one of the championship’s most popular circuits among riders and fans alike.

Although the venue's long-term future as a permanent Grand Prix host remains uncertain, the 2027 event guarantees that MotoGP will return to Alcañiz once more before the circuit begins its new role as a strategic backup option within the championship’s global calendar.
