Pirelli will continue as the exclusive tyre supplier to Formula 1 at least until the end of the 2028 season. The FIA has extended its current contract in agreement with Formula 1 and the Italian manufacturer.

Pirelli will stay the sole tyre supplier for the FIA Formula One World Championship until the end of 2028. The extension was confirmed through an agreement between the FIA, Formula 1 and Pirelli.

The deal also covers Formula 2, Formula 3 and F1 Academy, meaning Pirelli will continue supplying all three series and the junior single-seater championship through 2028.

The partnership between Formula 1 and Pirelli is one of the longest-running technical relationships in motorsport. The Italian brand has been part of the championship since its inaugural season in 1950 and has been the exclusive tyre supplier since 2011.

The extension comes as Formula 1 enters a new technical cycle under regulations introduced in 2026. The continued collaboration is intended to support stability in tyre development for both current and future generations of cars.

Pirelli also uses Formula 1 as a high-level development platform, with track data from a wide range of conditions and compounds feeding into research on performance, materials and sustainability, with applications beyond motorsport.

"Pirelli has been an important partner to the FIA Formula One World Championship for many years, providing a consistently high standard of performance, innovation, and safety at the highest level of our sport. This extension through to the end of 2028 provides stability for the championship and reflects the strong collaboration between the FIA, Formula One Group and Pirelli. Together, we continue to drive innovation and support the delivery of exciting racing for competitors, teams and fans around the world,“ FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said in a statement.
