Formula 1 F1 Monaco 2026 F1 season Timetable

Formula 1 heads to the streets of Monte Carlo for the sixth round of the 2026 championship. Unlike the previous two Sprint events in Miami and Canada, the Monaco weekend will follow the traditional format, giving teams three practice sessions to prepare for one of the most demanding circuits of the season.

After five races, attention now turns to the legendary street circuit, where qualifying is often just as important as the race itself. With overtaking opportunities limited around the narrow barriers of Monaco, securing a strong grid position on Saturday will be crucial for any driver hoping to challenge for victory on Sunday.

The championship battle also arrives in the Principality at an important stage of the season. Kimi Antonelli travels to Monaco as the championship leader, holding a commanding 43-point advantage over his Mercedes teammate George Russell. While Mercedes has enjoyed a strong start to the campaign, their rivals will be eager to close the gap at a venue where driver confidence and precision can often outweigh outright car performance.

Adding another storyline to the weekend, Lando Norris returns to Monaco as the defending race winner. The McLaren driver claimed victory in Monte Carlo last year and will be aiming to repeat that success as the team continues its push to challenge Mercedes at the front. However, Ferrari is also expected to be strong in Monaco this year.

With the unique challenge of Monaco, the pressure of a title fight, and one of the sport's most prestigious victories at stake, the sixth round of the season promises to be another fascinating chapter in the 2026 Formula 1 campaign.
