Four-time Formula 1 world champion Alain Prost was reportedly the victim of a violent robbery at his home in Switzerland earlier this week. The incident was first reported by Swiss newspaper Blick, citing information from local police and prosecutors.
According to the report, several masked intruders broke into Prost’s residence in Nyon, near Lake Geneva, during the early hours of Tuesday morning. The attackers allegedly threatened the family and forced one of the occupants to open a safe before fleeing with stolen valuables.
While Swiss authorities did not officially identify the victim, Blick stated that Prost suffered a minor head injury during the incident and was left deeply shaken by the ordeal.
In a statement, prosecutors confirmed that the perpetrators entered the house while the residents were inside, threatened them, and escaped before police arrived. A large search operation was launched, but the suspects have not yet been apprehended.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and are still determining exactly what was stolen during the robbery.
Prost is regarded as one of the greatest drivers in Formula 1 history, having won four world championships between 1985 and 1993.
