Scuderia Ferrari has announced a contract extension for Charles Leclerc, ensuring he will continue racing for the Italian team in Formula 1 for the coming seasons. The Scuderia did not reveal the duration of the new deal.

Leclerc’s relationship with Ferrari dates back to 2016, when he joined the Ferrari Driver Academy. After winning the Formula 2 title in 2017 and making his Formula 1 debut the following year, he was promoted to Ferrari’s race team for the 2019 season.

Since then, the Monegasque has established himself as one of the team’s key figures. He has delivered multiple victories (8), pole positions (27) and podium finishes (52), while becoming one of Ferrari’s most successful drivers of the modern era.

At 28 years old, Leclerc is already Ferrari’s second-most capped Formula 1 driver and ranks second on the team's all-time list for pole positions, behind only Michael Schumacher.

"I couldn’t be happier to continue this journey with Scuderia Ferrari HP. It has always been so much more than just a team to me. It’s the team I’ve loved and dreamt of being part of since I was a child, and after all these years it has become a second family," Leclerc said in the press release.

Together we’ve shared incredible moments and some tougher ones, but I believe in this team more than ever, and I’m deeply grateful that we will keep pushing side by side toward our shared goal of bringing the World Championship back to Maranello. Being a Ferrari driver is a dream, but it’s also a responsibility I never take for granted," the Ferrari driver added.
