Global music star Daddy Yankee will headline the official MotoGP awards ceremony as the World Championship returns to Valencia for its 2025 season finale. The Puerto Rican icon, known as the “King of Reggaeton,” will perform live after the final race at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, bringing a burst of Latin rhythm and global energy to MotoGP’s biggest night of the year.
The MotoGP World Championship will return to Valencia this year for its final round, after moving to Barcelona last season. Fans can also look forward to a big celebration after the race, as world-famous rapper Daddy Yankee will perform at the official awards ceremony.
Last year’s race was moved because of the terrible flooding in the Valencia region, which caused serious damage and sadly took the lives of 237 people. The Circuit Ricardo Tormo has been MotoGP’s traditional season finale since 2002, so its return marks a special moment for riders, teams, and fans alike.
This year’s closing event will not only honour the winners but also aim to connect MotoGP with a wider audience. Organisers say they want to make the championship feel more like a global cultural event, similar to what Formula 1 has achieved in recent years.
To help make that happen, MotoGP has invited Daddy Yankee to headline the show. The Puerto Rican artist, often called the King of Reggaeton, has been a huge figure in music since the 1990s. With over 50 million Instagram followers and 29 number-one songs on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart, his influence is enormous. His latest hit, Sonríele, recently reached the top of the chart.
Kelly Brittain, MotoGP’s Managing Director of Global Marketing, said in an interview with MotoGP.com: “This year’s awards are about celebrating the sport in a way that reflects its global energy and passion. Partnering with Smax Entertainment and bringing artists like Daddy Yankee to the stage is a statement of intent – we want to create unforgettable experiences for fans and show that MotoGP is more than just racing.”
The race weekend in Valencia runs from 14 to 16 November, and the action will continue on Tuesday, 18 November, with the traditional post-race test.
