MotoGP Motogp 2025 Season Jorge Martin Aprilia Racing summaries
Jorge Martin believes he could have challenged Marc Márquez in the 2025 MotoGP season if he had been riding a Ducati. After a championship-winning year and a difficult injury-filled season, the Spaniard remains confident about his future.
Jorge Martin believes he could have fought Marc Márquez in the 2025 MotoGP season if he had been riding a Ducati. He thinks staying on the same bike for another year could have made a big difference.
In November 2024, Jorge Martin became MotoGP World Champion. It was the best moment of his career. Sadly, his 2025 season quickly became very difficult and painful.
At the end of 2024, Martin left Pramac Ducati and joined the Aprilia factory team. Aprilia is a strong team, but Ducati has been the best bike in MotoGP in recent years. Martin did not get enough time to fully show his speed on the Aprilia.
His problems started during pre-season testing in February in Malaysia. He broke his foot and his hand. This stopped him from preparing properly for the new season.
When he was almost ready to race at the first round in Thailand, he was injured again. This happened while riding a supermoto bike to test his fitness. Because of this, he missed the first three races of the year.
Martin returned to racing in Qatar, but his comeback did not last long. During the race, another rider accidentally ran over him. This caused his worst injury of the season and forced him to stay away from racing for a long time.
He missed seven more races and finally returned in July at the Czech Grand Prix. By that time, half of the season was already over and it was hard for him to get back into race shape.
After racing five weekends in a row, Martin crashed again in Japan during the sprint race. He was injured once more and missed the rest of the Asian and Australian races.
He returned only for the final round of the season in Valencia. He retired from the race to protect his body and save energy for the post-season test.
Even after such a hard year, Martin says his confidence is still strong. He believes he is one of the top riders in MotoGP and does not feel forgotten by fans or the media.
He sees himself alongside Marc Márquez, Fabio Quartararo, Francesco Bagnaia and Pedro Acosta as the main reference riders in the championship. He believes these riders set the level in MotoGP.
Martin says it is impossible to know what would have happened if he had stayed with Ducati. However, when he looks at lap times and results, he feels he could have fought at the front on the same bike again.
He says Marc Márquez has been almost unbeatable in 2025. He respects Marc’s strength, his aggressive racing style and his strong influence in the media.
Martin believes that racing against such a strong rider can make him better. He wants to learn, improve and fight again in the future. He does not believe his bad luck was caused by using the number one plate. He is confident that he will win another MotoGP title one day and wear the number one again.
