Aprilia have confirmed that 2024 MotoGP World Champion Jorge Martin plans to race in the final round of the season at Valencia. His participation depends on passing a medical check on Thursday, following the collarbone injury he suffered during a crash at the Japanese Grand Prix.
Aprilia have announced that Jorge Martin is planning to race at the final round of the season in Valencia. He will need to pass a medical examination on Thursday at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo before he is fully confirmed to compete.
Martin, who became the 2024 MotoGP World Champion, has been recovering from a serious crash in the Tissot Sprint race at the Japanese Grand Prix. During the crash, he suffered a displaced fracture of his right collarbone which forced him to miss recent races.
If doctors say he is fit to ride, Martin will return to his Aprilia RS-GP in front of his home fans in Spain. He is also expected to take part in the official Valencia Test the following Tuesday. This test will be important for him and the Aprilia team as they prepare for the winter break and begin planning for the next season.
This year has been challenging for Martin, as injuries have affected his first season with Aprilia. However, racing in Valencia and completing the test would give him a positive and hopeful end to the year before he focuses on recovering fully and training for the new season.
