Jorge Martin will return to racing this weekend after recovering from a collarbone injury. The injury happened during the Tissot Sprint race in Japan, where he crashed at Turn 1.
However, Martin’s comeback will not be easy. The FIM MotoGP Stewards have decided that he must complete a double Long Lap penalty in Sunday’s Grand Prix.

The penalty comes from the same incident in Japan that caused his injury. After reviewing the crash, the Stewards ruled that Martin had been riding irresponsibly, which led to the accident. On Thursday morning, Martin attended a hearing with the officials, who confirmed the punishment.

This means that during the Grand Prix race, Martin will need to take two Long Lap penalties, so he would go through a longer section of the track. It will make his return even more challenging, especially after coming back from injury.

Despite the setbacks, Martin has said he is eager to race again and hopes to regain his rhythm quickly. Fans will be watching closely to see how he performs after his time away and whether he can overcome both his injury and the penalty on Sunday.
