Formula 1 F1 Monaco McLaren 2026 F1 season

McLaren will mark its 1000th Formula 1 Grand Prix with a special livery at the Monaco and Spanish Grands Prix. The commemorative design pays tribute to the team's history, achievements and journey since its F1 debut in 1966.

McLaren will race with a special livery at the Monaco Grand Prix as the team celebrates its 1000th Formula 1 World Championship race.

Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri's MCL40 will feature a metallic papaya and anthracite colour scheme, with several details highlighting key moments from McLaren's history. The design includes references to the team's first Formula 1 race, race victories, championship titles, the Triple Crown and its record-breaking pit stop. Both drivers will also wear special race suits matching the anniversary theme.

The special livery will remain on the car for both the Monaco and Spanish Grands Prix.

The milestone is particularly significant because McLaren's first Formula 1 race took place in Monaco in 1966. On that occasion, team founder Bruce McLaren drove the M2B in the principality's famous street race.

Since then, McLaren has become one of the most successful teams in Formula 1 history, recording 203 Grand Prix victories, 561 podium finishes, 177 pole positions, 13 Drivers' Championships and 10 Constructors' Championships.

According to the team, the anniversary livery reflects the message that "McLaren Never Quits" and celebrates both the successes and challenges that have shaped the organisation over the past six decades.

Monaco will therefore provide not only another important race weekend for McLaren but also an opportunity to celebrate one of the most significant milestones in the team's Formula 1 history.
