The starting grid for the 2026 United States MotoGP Grand Prix changed after penalties from the sprint race, moving several riders into new positions. Fabio Di Giannantonio had originally taken pole, but incidents on Saturday meant the final grid for Sunday looked different, creating fresh chances for riders like Pedro Acosta and Francesco Bagnaia.
The starting grid for the 2026 United States MotoGP race was decided after qualifying and some penalties, and it set up an exciting race at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin.
At the front of the grid was Fabio Di Giannantonio, who took pole position with a very fast lap. He will start ahead of Pedro Acosta and Francesco Bagnaia, forming the first row. This means three strong riders are ready to fight for the lead right from the start.
Behind them, the second row includes Marco Bezzecchi, Joan Mir and Marc Marquez. These riders are all very experienced and fast, so they are also expected to challenge at the front during the race.
The third row has Jorge Martin, Alex Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer. Martin is especially interesting because he is a top rider and has a good chance to move forward during the race.
On the fourth row are Ai Ogura, Luca Marini and Enea Bastianini. Then came Raul Fernandez, Diogo Moreira and Johann Zarco on the fifth row.
Finally, the sixth row includes Fabio Quartararo, Toprak Razgatlioglu and Brad Binder, who all have more work to do if they want to reach the front.
In MotoGP, the starting grid is very important because riders line up in three columns based on their qualifying times, with the fastest rider at the front. A good grid position can help a rider get a strong start and avoid trouble in the early laps.
