Tech3 and KTM will stay together in MotoGP after signing a new long-term agreement from 2027. The partnership has already brought race wins and strong results, and both sides now want to continue building for the future under MotoGP’s new rules.
French MotoGP team Tech3 will continue racing with Austrian manufacturer KTM from 2027 and beyond. The two sides have signed a new multi-year agreement before the start of MotoGP’s new technical era.
The partnership between Tech3 and KTM first started in 2019. Since then, the team has become an important part of KTM’s MotoGP project. Together, they have celebrated race wins, strong performances, and the development of young riders.
From 2027, MotoGP will introduce new technical regulations. Even with these big changes coming, Tech3 has decided to stay with KTM and continue using the KTM RC16 bikes. KTM RC16
There had been rumours earlier this year that Tech3 could leave KTM and join Honda. However, KTM worked hard to keep the French team in its MotoGP programme, and both sides finally agreed on a new deal.
Tech3 is now owned by former Formula 1 team boss Guenther Steiner, while KTM’s racing programme is led by Pit Beirer. Both men spoke positively about the future of the partnership during a press conference in Barcelona.
The agreement is important for KTM because satellite teams help manufacturers collect more data, improve bike development, and support young riders moving into MotoGP. Tech3 has often been seen as a place where talented riders can grow before joining KTM’s factory team.
Over the years, several famous riders have raced for Tech3, including Miguel Oliveira, Maverick Viñales and Enea Bastianini. The team achieved its first MotoGP victory in 2020 with Oliveira at the Styrian Grand Prix.
KTM and Tech3 are expected to announce more details about their future rider plans in the coming weeks.
