Francesco Bagnaia believes his podium finish at Mugello could mark the end of a challenging period in MotoGP. After months of struggling to find the right feeling with his Ducati, the Italian rider showed encouraging pace in front of his home fans and hopes the result is the start of a return to winning form.

Francesco Bagnaia believes his strong result at Mugello could be the start of a comeback after a very difficult period in MotoGP.

The Ducati rider finished third at the Italian Grand Prix and was pleased to stand on the podium in front of his home fans. Although he could not fight for the victory until the end, the result gave him confidence that he is moving in the right direction.

Bagnaia has faced many challenges over the last year and a half. He has often struggled to feel comfortable on his bike and has not been able to produce the level of performance that made him a MotoGP champion. Despite a few good results, he has spent much of that time searching for solutions with his team.

At Mugello, however, there were clear signs of improvement. Starting from sixth place on the grid, Bagnaia moved to the front of the race and led for several laps. He eventually finished behind Aprilia riders Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin, but his pace throughout the weekend was much stronger than in many recent races.

The Italian rider said he hopes this podium marks the end of a difficult chapter in his career. Since the beginning of the season, he and Ducati have been working hard to find a bike setup that better suits his riding style. He feels those efforts are finally starting to produce results.

Bagnaia explained that the current Ducati behaves differently from the bikes he enjoyed in previous seasons. Because of this, he has needed time to adapt and regain confidence. Rather than looking for a quick fix, he and his engineers have focused on making small improvements race after race.

One of the main problems has been a lack of rear grip. According to Bagnaia, this has made it harder to carry speed through corners and compete with some of his rivals. He believes Aprilia currently has an advantage in this area, but he is confident Ducati can close the gap.

Looking ahead, Bagnaia remains optimistic. He expects upcoming tracks with higher grip levels to suit his bike better and believes he will soon be able to challenge for race wins again. While he knows there is still work to do, he feels that the worst period of his struggles may finally be coming to an end.
