The American team will become the sport’s 11th outfit, and they’ve chosen one of the most experienced pairings the grid has ever seen. Between them, Bottas and Perez have started over 500 races, scored 16 victories, and played big roles in winning seven Constructors’ Championships. Cadillac will use Ferrari power for their first two years, before building their own engine from 2028.

Both drivers return after sitting out the 2025 season. Bottas spent the year working as Mercedes’ reserve driver and mentoring young talent, while also testing for McLaren in case he was needed. Perez, meanwhile, took time away from the paddock to be with his family after leaving Red Bull. Now, both are back, bringing valuable knowledge and stability to Cadillac’s ambitious new project.

Team boss Graeme Lowdon said that signing two proven racers was a clear statement of intent. He explained that their leadership, experience and speed will be crucial in helping Cadillac settle into the sport and grow stronger year by year. Perez described joining the team as an “exciting new chapter,” while Bottas is also eager to return to full-time racing and help build something from the ground up.

With strong backing from General Motors, Cadillac hope to make a big impact on the grid. Having drivers as seasoned as Bottas and Perez gives them a solid foundation as they prepare for the challenges ahead.
