Formula 1 Kevin Magnussen F1 drivers’ lives

Kevin Magnussen's first NASCAR Cup Series appearance was anything but quiet. The former Formula 1 driver became involved in an on-track incident with Noah Gragson, which later led to a heated confrontation after the race.

Kevin Magnussen made his NASCAR Cup Series debut as part of Trackhouse Racing's Project 91 programme at the temporary circuit built at Naval Base Coronado in San Diego.

The Danish driver showed promising pace throughout the event and even recorded the fastest lap of the race. However, his debut ended with a disappointing 27th-place finish and plenty of attention away from the results sheet.

Magnussen was involved in several battles with Noah Gragson during the race, with tensions between the two drivers building over multiple laps. The situation reached its peak late in the second stage when contact between the pair sent Gragson into the wall, causing damage that forced the Front Row Motorsports driver to retire from the race.

After the chequered flag, Gragson confronted Magnussen in the paddock. The discussion quickly became heated, with both drivers exchanging angry words before eventually walking away without the situation escalating further.

The race itself was won by Corey Heim, who claimed his maiden NASCAR Cup Series victory. Bubba Wallace finished second to secure a one-two result for 23XI Racing, the team co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin.
