Marco Bezzecchi had an amazing race at the United States Grand Prix. He won again and reached five victories in a row, joining some of the greatest riders in history and breaking an important record.
The race at United States Grand Prix was very exciting, especially for people who like statistics. The winner was Marco Bezzecchi, and he led the race from start to finish.
With this win, Bezzecchi joined a very special group of riders. This group includes legends like Marc Marquez, Valentino Rossi, Mick Doohan, Giacomo Agostini, John Surtees, Mike Hailwood, and Geoff Duke. All of them won five races in a row in the top class of motorcycle racing.
Bezzecchi’s five wins started last season and continued into this season. This is very impressive because he has only nine wins in total in the top class so far.
What makes this even more special is how he won these races. In all five races, he stayed in first place from the beginning to the end. No other rider in that famous group did this in all five races.
After the race, Bezzecchi said he could not find the right words to describe his feelings. He said it feels strange to hear his name next to riders like Rossi and Marquez. He also said it is a big pressure, but also a great honor.
There was another big moment in the race. Bezzecchi broke a record for the most laps led in a row in the top class. At first, this did not look likely because he started from the second row after a penalty. But he made a great start and took the lead early, passing Pedro Acosta on the first lap.
Later in the race, he passed the old record of 103 laps in a row, which was set by Jorge Lorenzo in 2015. By the end of the race, Bezzecchi increased the record to 120 laps in a row.
People will now watch closely to see if he can continue this at the next race in Spain.
Even with this amazing success, Bezzecchi is still far from the all-time record for consecutive wins. That record belongs to Giacomo Agostini, who won 20 races in a row in the late 1960s.
One more interesting fact is that Bezzecchi is the first rider to win the first three races of a season since Marc Marquez did it in 2014.
