Brad Binder could soon face one of the biggest decisions of his MotoGP career. With changes expected inside KTM and new opportunities opening across the grid, the South African rider’s next move is becoming clearer ahead of the 2027 season.
South African rider Brad Binder could soon begin a completely new chapter in MotoGP. Reports from the paddock suggest that his future with KTM is becoming less certain, and a possible move to another team now looks more realistic than ever.
Binder has spent many years with KTM and became one of the most important riders in the company’s MotoGP history. He won KTM’s first MotoGP race in 2020 and helped the Austrian manufacturer grow into a regular front-running team.
However, the MotoGP rider market is changing quickly ahead of the 2027 season. Several reports claim that KTM is planning a major reshuffle of its rider line-up. New names are strongly linked with the factory team, while Binder’s current place is no longer fully secure.
One possible option for Binder could be a move to the KTM Tech3 team. This would allow him to stay with the manufacturer he knows well, while making room for younger riders or new signings in the main factory squad. Sources close to the MotoGP paddock believe this is becoming one of the most likely outcomes.
Even though KTM has faced difficult moments this season, Binder has continued to show his experience and fighting spirit. He remains one of the most aggressive and exciting riders on the grid, especially in difficult race conditions.
At the same time, other manufacturers are also watching the rider market carefully. Aprilia has improved strongly in recent months and Ducati still remains the team everyone wants to beat. Because of this, many riders are searching for the best long-term opportunity before new MotoGP technical rules arrive in 2027.
Binder’s future is still not officially confirmed, but the situation is becoming clearer week by week. After many successful years in KTM orange, the South African may soon need to decide whether to continue in a different role inside KTM or take on a fresh challenge elsewhere in MotoGP.
