The start of the sprint went well for Marc Márquez, who managed to overtake with late braking on the inside of Turn 1. However, Raúl Fernández overtook Márquez at Turn 2 on the inside, with Jorge Martín in third place. Marco Bezzecchi, who started from pole position, dropped down the order to sixth place.

Another rider with a good start was Diogo Moreira, who made his way up to third place, while Marc Márquez started to drop positions after a great start.

After the first lap, the top 10 looked as follows: Fernández, Martín, Moreira, Di Giannantonio, Márquez, Bezzecchi, Aldeguer, Bastianini, Acosta, Ogura.

And it didn't take long for Bezzecchi to finally overtake Márquez and move into fifth place. Meanwhile, the duo at the front had a gap of over 1 second to Moreira in third. On lap 3, Di Giannantonio overtook Moreira on the inside, moving into third.

Moreira also lost this position to Bezzecchi and dropped to fifth place, while also receiving a track limits warning.

On lap 5, the top 10 looked as follows: Fernández, Martín, Di Giannantonio, Bezzecchi, Moreira, Márquez, Aldeguer, Acosta, Bagnaia, Ogura.

The first yellow flag of the day came out when Enea Bastianini crashed at Turn 10 from the top 10. Shortly after him, Franco Morbidelli also crashed at Turn 10.

Moreira lost another position, this time to Marc Márquez on lap 6. At the front, Fernández had a gap of 0.700s to Martín in second place. But Fernández was slowing down, allowing Martín to catch up to him, because with three laps to go the gap was under 0.500s.

On the last lap, Bagnaia overtook Acosta and was trying to defend his new position. This fight allowed Ogura to catch up to them, and he managed to overtake Acosta to move into eighth place.

And Raúl Fernández managed to hold his lead and win the sprint race at Mugello. In second finished Jorge Martín, with Fabio Di Giannantonio rounding out the podium.
