Q1
The first qualification kicked off under sunny weather. The riders who were fighting for a spot in Q2 were: Di Giannantonio, Mir, Quartararo, Espargaro, Miller, Aldeguer, Martin, Vinales, Fernandez, Bagnaia, Rins, Oliveira, Savadori and Chantra.

The session had brought mixed results so far. While Di Giannantonio mostly topped this part of qualy, Bagnaia struggled at 10th place. On the other hand, Joan Mir was sitting in 2nd place with Quartararo being close behind him. It is worth mentioning that the top 2 riders are advancing to Q2.

The times were in a range of 1:40 to 1:38s. However, to add spicy drama, Di Giannantonio was under investigation for something, which the stewards hadn’t cleared. But Fabio Quartararo put in a flying lap and took the first place with a time of 1:37.906, being the only rider who dipped into the 1:37s. Aldeguer attempted a flying lap, which he started well, but it wasn’t enough for top 2, so he ended in 3rd place. Even Bagnaia, who was in 12th place, started the lap well with a flying 1st sector, but he was slower in the second and third. As he crossed the line, he only improved to 11th. And with the checkered flag out, Bagnaia was the first rider to finish, Fernandez improved to 5th with Oliveira to 6th.

The race stewards announced that Di Giannantonio will not undergo further investigation about the incident. And as the rest of the riders crossed the finish line, there weren’t any improvements, meaning that Fabio Quartararo and Fabio Di Giannantonio are moving on to Q2.

Q2
The second part of qualifying started with riders going immediately on track. The riders competing for their starting spot were: Binder, Acosta, Alex, Marc, Bezzecchi, Bastianini, Morbidelli, Zarco, Marini, Ogura, Quartararo, Di Giannantonio.

The times started in a range of 1:40 to 1:38s. After the first attempts, Alex Marquez had taken the lead for now, while his brother had started a flying measured lap. However, so did Acosta, and both were attacking 1st position. Acosta finished 2nd with Marc improving to 6th, while Quartararo took the lead for a moment, before Alex took it back.

After 6 minutes, the top 5 looked like this: Alex, Quartararo, Acosta, Zarco and Morbidelli. With a little over 6 minutes left, everyone was in the pits before their last attempts.

Acosta managed to take provisional pole position for now, as there were still 2 minutes left in the session. Alex soon took the lead with his brother Marc taking second place. Acosta got his best lap time deleted due to exceeding track limits.

Quartararo managed to improve even without a flying lap, jumping to 2nd place, while Acosta remained in 4th place. Binder, who had incredible Friday results, was now struggling to be even in the top 5, as he was in 11th place. And with the checkered flag out, the riders were finishing their laps. Marc, who had started a flying lap, made a mistake at Turn 5. Bezzecchi was unable to improve, leaving him in 12th place, while Quartararo finished in 2nd place. Alex Marquez took pole position, with Quartararo in 2nd and Marc in 3rd place.
