Cadillac Formula 1 Team will race with a striking one-off red, white and blue livery at this weekend's British Grand Prix, celebrating the United States' 250th anniversary. The American squad will become the third Formula 1 team to reveal a special design for the Silverstone weekend, joining McLaren and Williams.
Cadillac Formula 1 Team has unveiled a special Stars and Stripes-inspired livery that will make its debut at this weekend's British Grand Prix at Silverstone, marking the United States' 250th anniversary in spectacular fashion.
The patriotic design transforms the team's usual appearance into a bold red, white and blue colour scheme, reflecting Cadillac's American identity as Formula 1's newest manufacturer. The special look extends beyond the cars themselves, with matching garage branding, driver helmets and team apparel creating a unified visual celebration throughout the race weekend.
The timing is particularly symbolic, as Saturday's Sprint and Grand Prix qualifying sessions fall on July 4, America's Independence Day, which this year commemorates the country's 250th birthday.
According to the team, the livery is intended to honour the milestone while highlighting Cadillac's ambition to represent the United States on Formula 1's global stage.
"The 4th of July weekend is a moment for us to show our continued pride in representing the United States on the global stage of F1," said Cadillac Formula 1 Team Holdings CEO Dan Towriss. "We want to use it as an opportunity to allow new communities to discover the sport and share our passion."
The special colours will also feature away from the circuit. Cadillac will showcase the livery during the team's collaboration with Jim Beam at the ESSENCE Festival in New Orleans, one of the largest cultural events in the United States, as part of its efforts to introduce Formula 1 to new audiences.
On track, the American outfit will be hoping the eye-catching design is accompanied by improved fortunes after a difficult Austrian Grand Prix. Team Principal Graeme Lowdon believes the upgrades introduced at the Red Bull Ring showed promise despite the disappointing result.
"The Austrian Grand Prix was a challenge for us – but there is not one team in the pitlane that has not had similar days," Lowdon said. "We have been working incredibly hard to rectify the issues. We have seen that the upgrades brought to Spielberg were positive, and our objective in Silverstone is to ensure that we have a clean weekend to maximize the performance potential we see."
Cadillac will not be the only team running a one-off look at Silverstone. McLaren has already unveiled a special Google Gemini-inspired livery that pays tribute to the team's first-ever Formula 1 car, while Williams will also race with a unique design during its home Grand Prix.
