MotoGP jerezmotogp Yamaha Racing Fabio Quartararo Motogp testing Summaries
Fabio Quartararo gained a little confidence after the MotoGP test in Circuito de Jerez, where Yamaha showed slight progress with its new bike.
After a difficult race weekend in Jerez, Fabio Quartararo left the test with a bit more hope for the future of Yamaha’s new bike.
Yamaha is working on a completely new V4 engine project for MotoGP. This is a big change, because for many years the team used an inline engine. The new bike is still not as strong as its rivals, and the Spanish Grand Prix showed this clearly. Quartararo finished far behind the leaders and was not able to fight at the front.
However, things looked slightly better during the official test at Circuito de Jerez. Quartararo tried many new parts on the bike, including changes to the chassis, aerodynamics, and electronics.
The most important improvement was the feeling from the front of the bike. This is very important for a rider, because it helps with turning, braking, and confidence when entering corners. Quartararo said he “found something”, meaning he discovered a small but useful step forward.
His lap time also showed progress. He finished seventh overall in the test, much closer to the fastest riders than he was in the race. This suggests Yamaha is slowly moving in the right direction, even if the gap is still there.
Even so, Quartararo made it clear that this is not a big breakthrough. The improvement is small, and there is still a lot of work to do. Yamaha’s new V4 bike needs better grip, turning ability, and overall balance before it can fight regularly for podiums.
The team is trying many different ideas to improve the bike, and tests like this are very important. Riders give feedback, and engineers use this information to make changes. Over time, these small steps can lead to bigger results
For now, the Jerez test has given Yamaha a little bit of encouragement. Quartararo’s comments show that progress is possible, even if it is slow. The V4 project is still new, and it may take time before it can compete with the best bikes in MotoGP.
