Charles Leclerc admits that the Canadian weekend has been so far the worst weekend of his career. He has been struggling for performance since FP1 and is set to start the Grand Prix from eight position.
Leclerc wasn’t able to match the performance of his Ferrari teammate Lewis Hamilton who has been really positive about his weekend so far as he qualified fifth for the upcoming race.
“I just felt like I was going to put it into the wall in every single corner I do just because the tyres were completely out of the window today. The brakes yesterday that were not in the window as well. There was never, at any time, something that was just clicking and everything was right,” he commented after the Qualifying, quoted by the official Formula 1 website.
He also spoke about Hamiton who managed slightly cooler weather conditions well: “I'll analyse on what I can do to be better in these kinds of conditions to just switch those tyres on, because it's been really a nightmare so far.”
His British teammate is currently enjoying one of his strongest weekends so far in this season. Leclerc commented that it is strange but he has to work on that. “Honestly, for now, I just have a very strange feeling with the car so we'll look into everything. Surely I can do better things, but it just felt very off,” he concluded.
