Aprilia have confirmed that Spanish rider Jorge Martín will not race in the upcoming Portuguese Grand Prix. The decision allows him more time to recover from a collarbone injury suffered during a crash at the Japanese round earlier this season.
Aprilia have confirmed that their rider Jorge Martín will not take part in the upcoming Portuguese Grand Prix. The decision has been made so that he can continue to recover fully from his recent injury.
Martín was hurt after a crash during the Tissot Sprint race in Japan, where he fractured his collarbone. The accident forced him to miss the rest of the weekend in Motegi, as well as the following rounds in Indonesia, Australia and Malaysia.
Although his recovery is going well, Aprilia and Martín have decided not to rush his return. The team want to make sure he is completely fit before he gets back on the bike.
With Portugal now confirmed as another race he will sit out, attention turns to the final race of the season in Valencia. Fans are eager to know whether Martín will be ready to compete there, or if he will also miss the post-season test that follows.
For now, Aprilia will focus on supporting their other riders while keeping a close eye on Martín’s progress.
