Formula 1 f1 f12025season f1baku mclaren landonorris reports
Lando Norris set the fastest time in FP3 at Baku, ahead of Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri.
The third free practice in Baku started slowly, with only a few cars going out in the first ten minutes as strong winds made driving tricky. Oliver Bearman was first to set a lap time, followed by Lando Norris, who reported that his McLaren felt worse with every corner. Oscar Piastri soon went fastest, but Charles Leclerc responded with a quicker lap and briefly took first place, brushing the wall without causing any damage.
As the session continued, drivers started pushing harder. Max Verstappen showed his pace and went to the top of the timesheets, while Liam Lawson spun but avoided contact, and Alexander Albon ran wide at Turn 4. Leclerc also touched the barrier again but continued without damage, while other drivers struggled with the wind in the tight streets of Baku.

In the last fifteen minutes, the intensity increased as drivers competed for the best laps. Norris managed a clean lap and went back to first place. Verstappen pushed but remained second, while Piastri went third ahead of Hamilton. George Russell also improved, but finished behind the top four. The session saw several more off-track moments, including Piastri using the escape road at Turn 1 and Albon running wide again at Turn 4.
At the chequered flag, Lando Norris finished fastest with a 1:42.199, Verstappen was second, and Piastri third. Hamilton ended fourth, with Kimi Antonelli and Alex Albon rounding out the top six. Charles Leclerc completed the session in seventh, Liam Lawson finished eighth, Oliver Bearman ninth, and Esteban Ocon tenth.
