Pirelli continued preparations for the 2027 Formula 1 season with a dedicated slick tyre test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, involving Ferrari, Aston Martin and Cadillac.

The one-day programme focused on the development of next year's slick tyre range, with the three teams gathering valuable data under hot summer conditions. Air temperatures reached 34°C during the day, while the track surface peaked at 57°C.

The morning session was dedicated to evaluating different structural solutions for the C2 compound through a series of eight-lap performance runs. In the afternoon, attention shifted to longer stints, allowing Pirelli to assess the most promising tyre constructions over race-style distances.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc completed the busiest programme of the day, covering 134 laps and a total of 624 kilometres. The Monegasque driver set a best lap time of 1:16.619.

Aston Martin handed driving duties to Jak Crawford, with the American completing 146 laps, equivalent to 680 kilometres. His fastest lap of the day was a 1:23.709.

Cadillac's test programme was carried out by Zhou Guanyu, although the American squad encountered technical issues that limited its running. Zhou completed 54 laps, covering 251 kilometres, with a best time of 1:21.543.

Pirelli's Barcelona test will continue on Wednesday with Ferrari and Cadillac remaining in action. Zhou Guanyu will stay behind the wheel for Cadillac, while Charles Leclerc will hand over Ferrari's car to his younger brother, Arthur Leclerc, for the second and final day of running.
