Formula 1 Lewis Hamilton F1 drivers’ lives 2026 F1 season

As the 2026 Formula 1 season approaches, Lewis Hamilton offered a personal revelation that quickly stood out: the seven-time world champion shared that he has ADHD during a driver introduction video released by Formula 1.

Ahead of the new 2026 season, official Formula 1 channel uploaded a YouTube video introducing all 22 drivers. One of the questions were an interesting fact about themselves and Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton admitted he has ADHD, neurodevelopmental condition with symptoms including hyperactivity and concentration difficulties. “I walk into my house, and I go around the whole house before I can even sit down to rearrange everything.” he said.

Despite Hamilton´s claim of ADHD, the behaviour patterns he described appear to be more common for people with OCD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, an anxiety-related condition.

Lewis Hamilton, going into his 20th season in Formula 1, suffered a disappointing year without any wins in Ferrari. It was his first season without single podium finish. But the expectations are high after the pre-season tests held in Bahrain last month as the performance of the SF-26 seemed very good.

Hamilton has spoken openly about his mental health before and has never shied away from admitting when he’s been struggling. However, he had not previously shared something this personal. Seeing the seven-time world champion open up in this way could be a powerful and encouraging moment for many fans.
