Marc Márquez is set to return to MotoGP action at Mugello after missing two races because of injury. The Ducati rider says he feels ready to race again ahead of the team’s important home Grand Prix in Italy.
After missing the last two MotoGP races, Marc Márquez is ready to return at Mugello this weekend. The Ducati rider had surgery after a heavy crash during the Sprint race at Le Mans earlier this month. He injured his foot and also had an operation on his shoulder.
The Spanish champion has been recovering for the last two weeks and now feels ready to race again. Ducati confirmed that his recovery has gone well, but he still needs to pass a final medical check before he can ride in Italy.
Márquez shared the news with fans on social media and said he is excited to return at Mugello. The Italian Grand Prix is very important for Ducati because it is the team’s home race.
While Marc is coming back, his brother Álex Márquez will not race in Italy. Álex suffered serious injuries after a crash in Catalunya and needs more time to recover. Ducati test rider Michele Pirro will replace him for the Mugello weekend.
The Mugello circuit is one of the most famous tracks in MotoGP and thousands of Italian fans are expected to support Ducati during the weekend. Many supporters will hope that Marc Márquez can make a strong comeback after a difficult start to the season.
