Winner: Raul Fernandez

Raul Fernandez enjoyed another impressive weekend. He was fast from the start and finished in the top two during the first three practice sessions.

On Saturday morning, he picked up a painful injury to his body. Even so, he fought through the pain to finish fifth in the sprint race and third in Sunday's Grand Prix. He thanked the medical team for helping him continue racing.

Fernandez seems able to perform well even when things are difficult. Earlier this season, he raced strongly after suffering appendicitis, and he also won the Mugello sprint while dealing with uncertainty about his future.

Loser: Maverick Vinales

Maverick Vinales had another disappointing weekend, both on and off the track.

His relationship with KTM appears to be coming to an end. During the weekend, Vinales spoke about contract talks and claimed he had been offered a deal for 2027 before it was taken away.

KTM motorsport director Pit Beirer replied by saying that Vinales was still being considered, but a decision needed to be made soon.

Vinales did not help his chances. He struggled near the back of the field all weekend and later said he did not need to speak with anyone about his future. By the end of the weekend, it looked very unlikely that he and KTM would stay together.

Winner: Yamaha

Yamaha had one of its better weekends of the season.

The Sachsenring does not have many long straights, so Yamaha's lack of engine power was less of a problem.

Jack Miller impressed on Friday by reaching Q2 with the fifth-fastest lap. Although he qualified only 11th, Fabio Quartararo started from the second row after another good performance.

Both riders lost places during the races, but Quartararo finished seventh in the Grand Prix. At the moment, that is a solid result for Yamaha.

The next race at Silverstone could be much harder because the fast circuit does not suit the Yamaha as well.

Loser: Aprilia Factory Team

It was a very difficult weekend for the Aprilia factory team.

Marco Bezzecchi crashed in qualifying and suffered an injury. He had to travel back to Italy for surgery and scored no points again. As a result, he dropped from second to fourth in the championship. Nobody knows when he will return or how fit he will be.

Things were not much better for Jorge Martin. Even though he increased his championship lead, he still lacked speed during the weekend. He is searching for answers but has not found the strong form he showed earlier in the season.

For the third race in a row, the Trackhouse Aprilia team performed better than the factory squad. Aprilia will now be worried as the summer break gets closer.

Winner: Marc Márquez

Marc Marquez had the perfect weekend at the Sachsenring. Many people expected him to win both races, and he did exactly that. After taking victory in the sprint on Saturday, he won Sunday's Grand Prix from pole position. It was his 10th MotoGP win at the German track.

Marquez said the sprint race was not as easy as it looked, but everything went well apart from a small problem with a bump at Turn 3 during Friday practice. He looked very strong all weekend.

This performance was a reminder of the brilliant form he showed last summer. His rivals will hope it was only because the Sachsenring is one of his favourite tracks.

Loser: Fabio Di Giannantonio

Fabio Di Giannantonio arrived in Germany in good form. He had been scoring points regularly and was close to the top of the championship. Some people believed he could be the rider to challenge Marquez.

He qualified well and finished third in the sprint race, giving him another strong result.

However, Sunday was a disaster. During the morning warm-up, he tried some new bike parts and different racing lines before crashing. Although he was not badly hurt, he never recovered.

In the Grand Prix, he dropped back at the start and crashed again after only three laps. It was a costly day when he really needed to score important championship points.
