MotoGP MotoGP Motogp 2026 Season Marc Marquez Ducati Lenovo team
Marc Márquez will remain a Ducati Team rider for at least two more seasons after signing a contract extension that keeps him with the Italian manufacturer through the end of the 2028 MotoGP campaign.
Ducati confirmed that the reigning MotoGP world champion has renewed his agreement for the 2027 and 2028 seasons, extending a partnership that has already delivered remarkable success.
Márquez joined the Ducati family at the start of 2024 before stepping up to the factory Ducati Team in 2025. The move proved to be a perfect match, as the Spaniard immediately returned to championship-winning form.
In his first season with the factory squad, Márquez dominated the championship. He claimed 14 Sprint victories and 11 Grand Prix wins, including 10 weekends where he completed the Sprint and Grand Prix double. He secured the riders’ title with five rounds remaining and set a new all-time MotoGP record by scoring 545 points in a single season.
The 2026 campaign has continued to strengthen the relationship between rider and manufacturer. During Ducati’s centenary year, Márquez and the Bologna-based brand reached a symbolic milestone together at the Hungarian Grand Prix, where Ducati celebrated its 100th MotoGP victory while Márquez recorded the 100th win of his professional racing career across all categories.
Speaking after the announcement, Márquez expressed his delight at continuing with Ducati.
“I’m red. I’m truly happy with this new agreement with the Ducati Lenovo Team and to continue being part of this family. When I decided to join Ducati, I was convinced it was the most competitive project. They believed in me, and we built a relationship based on trust and hard work," said 7-time MotoGP World champion.
“In our first year together, we fought for the title and won it. It was a priceless result that confirmed we had chosen the right path. I continue to compete because I love this sport and I want to achieve even more ambitious goals. I’m convinced this is the right place to do it,” added Márquez.
