The start of the sprint went well for Marc Márquez, even when he had some problems to steady his bike. His brother Alex Márquez also had a good start as he remained in second place. Fabio Quartararo managed to remain in 6th place after the start.

After the first lap, the top 10 looked as follows: M. Márquez, A. Márquez, Di Giannantonio, Ogura, Fernandez, Martin, Bagnaia, Quartararo, Acosta, Morbidelli.

On lap 2, Pedro Acosta received a track limit warning, which is very soon at this stage of a sprint. As the sprint progressed, the grid managed to stay close, but not close enough for overtakes.

On lap 4, Pedro Acosta caught up to Quartararo ahead of him and was preparing for an overtake. It didn’t take long before Acosta moved into 8th place, pushing Quartararo behind him.

At the front, the trio of Marc, Alex, and Di Giannantonio stayed close. The first yellow flag was caused on lap 7 by Franco Morbidelli, who had crashed at Turn 13.

Meanwhile, at the front, the leading trio started to create a gap over the riders behind them.

With 5 laps left, the top 10 looked as follows: M. Márquez, A. Márquez, Di Giannantonio, Ogura, Fernandez, Martin, Bagnaia, Acosta, Quartararo, Moreira.

And Marc Márquez won the sprint here at Sachsenring. Alex Márquez finished in second, with Di Giannantonio rounding out the podium.
