The Sunday Grand Prix at Phillip Island took place under cloudy conditions. After a quick warm-up lap, the race began. The start went well for Marco Bezzecchi, along with Raul Fernandez. Meanwhile, Fabio Quartararo lost positions from pole and dropped to fourth place.

After the first lap, the top 10 looked like this: Bezzecchi, Fernandez, Acosta, Quartararo, Miller, Márquez, Espargaró, Marini, Di Giannantonio, Aldeguer.

At the front, the trio of Bezzecchi, Fernandez, and Acosta created a small gap to the other riders. Going into lap 3, Pedro Acosta overtook Fernandez and moved into second place. On the other hand, Francesco Bagnaia, just like yesterday, started dropping positions and was now sitting in 17th place.

On lap 5, there was the first yellow flag of the race, caused by Johann Zarco crashing at Turn 1. However, even Jack Miller crashed on the same lap at his home Grand Prix. Bezzecchi served his first long-lap penalty under yellow flag conditions and dropped to third place.

This made Fernandez the leader of the race, as he had managed to overtake Acosta earlier. On lap 6, the top 10 looked like this: Fernandez, Acosta, Quartararo, Márquez, Di Giannantonio, Bezzecchi, Espargaró, Marini, Binder, Aldeguer.

Bezzecchi dropped further as he served his second long-lap penalty, completing his penalty from Indonesia.

Meanwhile, going into lap 7, Márquez sent it into Turn 1 on Quartararo and moved up to third place. Quartararo was now in fifth, defending his position from Bezzecchi. At the front, Fernandez had a gap of 1.4 seconds over Acosta.

On lap 10, another yellow flag was out, this time caused by Joan Mir crashing in sectors 3 and 4, forcing him to retire from the race. Meanwhile, Bezzecchi overtook Quartararo and improved to fifth place. Further back, Bagnaia made up some positions and jumped to 13th. On lap 12, into Turn 1, Quartararo was overtaken by Luca Marini, dropping to seventh place. Behind him, there was a battle between Aldeguer and Espargaró.

Going into lap 13, Espargaró used the slipstream from Quartararo and overtook him into Turn 1, followed closely by Aldeguer, with both riders moving ahead of Quartararo. At the front, Fernandez had a 1.6-second gap over Acosta.

Meanwhile, Fernandez continued to strengthen his lead, while Márquez caught up to Acosta and even overtook him on lap 16. The top 10 looked like this: Fernandez, Márquez, Acosta, Di Giannantonio, Bezzecchi, Marini, Aldeguer, Binder, Espargaró, Bastianini.

On lap 19, Acosta lost another position, after a great start, he was now dropping from the front. However, Acosta kept fighting back, using slipstream to catch Di Giannantonio, only for Di Giannantonio to quickly retake his podium position.

At the front, Fernandez had a gap of over three seconds to Márquez in second. On lap 21, the top 10 looked like this: Fernandez, Márquez, Di Giannantonio, Acosta, Bezzecchi, Marini, Aldeguer, Binder, Bastianini, Rins.

After trailing Acosta for several laps, on lap 22, Bezzecchi overtook him and moved up to fourth place. Di Giannantonio, showing great pace, improved to second, pushing Márquez down to third.

With three laps to go, another yellow flag was out, this time caused by Francesco Bagnaia crashing from 12th place. With two laps to go, the top 10 looked like this: Fernandez, Di Giannantonio, Márquez, Bezzecchi, Acosta, Marini, Rins, Binder, Bastianini, Espargaró.

However, Bezzecchi used his momentum to overtake Márquez, moving into third place.
Raul Fernandez went on to win his first-ever MotoGP race, with Di Giannantonio finishing second and Bezzecchi rounding out the podium.
