The French Grand Prix took place under cloudy weather. Marc Márquez didn’t take part, as he was in Madrid having operations after his crash from Saturday.

The start went well for Marco Bezzecchi, who took the lead of the race again. Meanwhile, Francesco Bagnaia lost his position and dropped down to 5th. Home hero Fabio Quartararo had a brilliant start and moved up to 2nd place.

After the first lap, the top 10 looked as follows: Bezzecchi, Quartararo, Acosta, Bagnaia, Di Giannantonio, Ogura, Martin, Mir, Bastianini, Fernández.

On lap 2, there was a first yellow flag of the race; it was caused by Álex Márquez, who had crashed at sector 1. Quartararo lost his second place to Acosta, as he allowed Acosta to get a slipstream.

On lap 5, Bagnaia moved up as he overtook Quartararo. The tyre configuration was different, while some riders chose a soft rear with a medium front. There were also riders choosing both soft rear and front.

As the race progressed, the missing speed of Yamaha was more and more visible, as Quartararo was missing speed on the straights, allowing other riders to catch him up. That’s why he was dropping in the order, now being in 6th place.

A bit more at the front, Martin and Di Giannantonio were fighting for 4th place. At the front, Bezzecchi had a gap of over 0.600s to Bagnaia in second place.

On lap 10, the top 10 looked as follows: Bezzecchi, Bagnaia, Acosta, Martin, Di Giannantonio, Quartararo, Ogura, Mir, Bastianini, Fernández.

On lap 11, Diogo Moreira crashed at sector 2. He had a good race and could have finished on points if he hadn’t crashed.

On lap 16, Francesco Bagnaia crashed out at Turn 2, crashing from 2nd place. The top 10 looked as follows: Bezzecchi, Acosta, Martin, Di Giannantonio, Ogura, Quartararo, Mir, Bastianini, Fernández, Aldeguer. At the front, Bezzecchi had a gap of over 1s to Acosta in second. However, Martin was closing in on Acosta and preparing for an overtake. And it didn’t take long, Martin overtook Acosta, moving into second place.

Joan Mir, who was trailing Quartararo for a long time, managed to finally overtake him, moving into 6th place.

On lap 21, Joan Mir crashed and brought out another yellow flag. Ogura used this to overtake Di Giannantonio and moved into 5th place. In the same lap, Brad Binder had crashed out at Turn 7, retiring from the race.

On lap 23, Ogura caught up to Acosta and cleanly overtook him on the inside, making it an Aprilia podium.

With 4 laps to go, Martin caught up to his teammate Bezzecchi, creating a thrilling battle for first place. And Martin did it, he overtook Bezzecchi and moved into the lead of the race with 3 laps to go.

And it was Jorge Martin who won the race in Le Mans, with Bezzecchi in second and Ogura in third place. Di Giannantonio managed to overtake Acosta and moved into 4th place.
