MotoGP teams completed an important test at Brno as they prepared for the new 2027 regulations. Aprilia set the fastest time of the day, while Marc Marquez escaped injury after a minor crash during testing of the new bikes and Pirelli tyres.
MotoGP teams took part in an important test at the Brno circuit after the Czech Grand Prix. The test was focused on the big changes that will arrive in the championship in 2027.
For the first time, riders tested bikes with smaller 850cc engines and new Pirelli tyres. Pirelli will become the official tyre supplier for MotoGP from 2027. The new rules will also include less aerodynamics and the removal of ride-height devices. These changes are designed to make racing closer and reduce costs.
Aprilia had a very positive day and recorded the fastest lap during the test. The Italian manufacturer showed strong pace and looked comfortable with the new tyres and bike setup. This was encouraging for the team as it prepares for the future of MotoGP.
Marc Marquez was also on track with Ducati. The Spanish rider completed many laps to help develop the new machine. However, his day was interrupted by a small crash. Fortunately, the accident was not serious and Marquez was not injured. He was able to walk away without any problems.
All MotoGP manufacturers took part in the test. Ducati, Aprilia, KTM, Honda and Yamaha gathered valuable information about the new bikes and tyres. Engineers will now study the data and continue working on the machines before the next test sessions later this year.
The Brno test was an important step towards MotoGP's new era. While the bikes are still being developed, the early signs suggest that teams are already learning how to get the best performance from the new technology. The coming months will be crucial as manufacturers continue preparing for the major rule changes in 2027.
