Pedro Acosta will become a Ducati factory rider in 2027 after signing a two-year deal with the Italian manufacturer. The talented Spaniard will race alongside Marc Marquez as Ducati prepares for a new era of MotoGP under the 2027 regulations.
Pedro Acosta will ride for Ducati’s factory MotoGP team in 2027 and 2028. He will be the teammate of Marc Marquez in what could become one of the strongest rider pairings on the grid. Ducati officially confirmed the deal on 24 June 2026.
Acosta joins Ducati after making a big impression in MotoGP. The young Spanish rider has been seen as one of the sport’s brightest talents since winning world titles in the smaller classes before moving to the premier category.
The move comes just one day after Ducati announced that Marc Marquez had extended his own contract until the end of the 2028 season. This means the two Spaniards will lead Ducati into MotoGP’s new era, which starts with major technical rule changes in 2027.
Marquez has enjoyed huge success with Ducati. After winning the MotoGP world title in 2025, he remained one of the championship’s top riders and committed his future to the Italian manufacturer.
Acosta and Marquez have already produced exciting battles on track. Their close racing during the 2026 season showed the speed and determination of both riders, giving fans a glimpse of what they may achieve together as teammates.
Ducati’s decision highlights its confidence in both riders. Marquez brings experience, world titles and race-winning knowledge, while Acosta offers youth, speed and long-term potential. The team hopes this combination will help it remain at the front of MotoGP for many years.
The announcement is one of the biggest rider transfers ahead of the 2027 season. With new regulations arriving and several teams making changes, the arrival of Acosta at Ducati is expected to be one of the most important stories in the sport’s next chapter.
