Some of the biggest names in MotoGP history will return to the track together this month as part of a special Legends Parade at the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix. Fans attending the race at the Red Bull Ring from 15–17 August will get a rare chance to see famous riders back in action on iconic bikes.

The event marks the return of the MotoGP season after the summer break, and organisers are promising a weekend filled with entertainment both on and off the track.

Casey Stoner, two-time world champion, will lead the parade. The Australian star will ride a Repsol Honda RC213V-S, in tribute to the bike with which he won his 2011 title. Stoner last raced in MotoGP in 2012 and is known as one of the sport’s most naturally talented riders.

Joining him on track will be his former team-mates Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso. Pedrosa will ride a 2008 KTM 250cc, once used by Hiroshi Aoyama. Dovizioso will be aboard a classic 1986 Yamaha YZR500, the same model once ridden by legend Eddie Lawson.

However, they won't be the only riders taking part. Other names include Luca Cadalora and Simon Crafar, both riding vintage Yamaha YZR500s. Tom Lüthi will join on a 2019 Kalex Moto2 bike.
Loris Capirossi will ride an Aprilia RSV250, Toni Mang will be on a Kawasaki KR250, and Gustl Auinger will complete the line-up on a classic Morbidelli 125cc.

The Legends Parade is inspired by a similar event held during the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix, also hosted at the Red Bull Ring. It gives fans a unique chance to see racing history in motion, with the sights and sounds of bikes from across the decades.

The full line-up has not yet been confirmed, as organisers say more riders and bikes may still be added. Even so, with top riders, historic machines, and a packed programme, the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix is shaping up to be a truly exciting event.
