MotoGP has officially confirmed that the Qatar Grand Prix has been postponed from its original April date and will now take place on 8 November 2026. The decision comes in response to the ongoing geopolitical situation in the Middle East.

The move was agreed in coordination with the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), the championship promoter and local authorities in Qatar. According to the organisers, the main priority was to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in the event, including teams, staff and spectators.

After analysing several possible scenarios for the calendar, MotoGP chose the November date to minimise disruption to the rest of the season.

As part of the adjustment, the Portuguese Grand Prix in Portimão will now be held on 22 November, while the season-finale Valencia Grand Prix has been moved to 29 November. All other rounds of the 2026 MotoGP World Championship remain unchanged.

MotoGP CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta said the decision was made carefully and in close cooperation with all parties involved.

“This decision was taken with great care and in full coordination with our partners in Qatar and across the paddock. Our priority is always the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in MotoGP, as well as ensuring that every Grand Prix is delivered to the highest possible standard. We also recognise the importance of providing clarity for our fans as early as possible and ticket holders will be given the opportunity to rollover their tickets to the next event,” said Ezpeleta.

Fans who have already purchased tickets for the Qatar Grand Prix will be able to transfer them to the rescheduled November event. Further details regarding ticket arrangements are expected to be announced soon.
